Francis Dosne
Biography

Francis Dosne (pronounced Doane) was borne in Troyes, France. He started oil painting at an early age, and eventually moved to stone carving, intaglio, and silk-screen Printing.

After graduating from university as a Chemical Engineer, he studied with the well known artist, Fernand Leger, in Paris, and then moved to Petropolis, Brazil, where he was an active member of the Associaçao Petropolitana de Bellas Artes.

After fifteen years, he returned to New York where he worked at the Sculpture Center School and Studios, as well as serving on its Board of Directors.

While busy as Vice President of Nestlé, he found time to join the Stone Carving Studio of René Levaggio.

Once retired, he carved local marble at the Dellatolas Marble Studio in Tinos, Greece, as well as at The Carving Studio & Sculpture Center in Proctor, New York.

He then joined the Bob Blackburn Printing Workshop and later the Arts Student League. He now spends most of his time at the Manhattan Graphics Center.

Francis Dosne's artwork has been exhibited in various galleries in New York and other cities in the USA, as well as in Brazil.
